This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit brinellermoe.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by Bri Nellermoe.

Information collected

The Site collects personal information only when you choose to provide it, plus a limited amount of usage data:

• Email address: when you sign up for the mailing list or submit the contact form.
• Contact form details: any name or message you include when you reach out.
• Usage data: information such as pages visited, approximate location, device, and browser, collected through Google Analytics as described under “Cookies and analytics” below.
• Technical data: like any website, the services that deliver the Site and its fonts receive your IP address and browser details when your browser requests a page.

How your information is used

• To send newsletters, release news, and related updates you have subscribed to.
• To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
• To understand how visitors use the Site so it can be improved.

Your information is never sold or rented to third parties, and it is not used for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Your answer is saved in your browser so you are not asked again. You can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

• If you accept: Google Analytics sets cookies that recognize your browser across visits, so traffic can be measured more accurately.
• If you reject, or before you choose: no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics still receives basic, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed), which Google uses to estimate overall traffic without identifying you.

Advertising cookies and ad personalization are always off. The Site does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals; use the cookie banner or your browser’s cookie settings instead.

The mailing list form on the Connect page uses Kit’s sign-up script, which stores a small identifier in your browser that Kit uses to recognize returning visitors.

Rejecting or blocking cookies will not affect your ability to read the Site or join the mailing list.

Third-party services

The Site relies on a small number of trusted services that may process your information on its behalf. Some of them are based in, or process data in, the United States.

• Kit (formerly ConvertKit): manages the mailing list and sends newsletters. See Kit's privacy policy.
• Web3Forms: delivers contact form submissions. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: provides traffic statistics, as described above. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: serves the Site’s typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load. See Google Fonts’ privacy FAQ.
• GitHub Pages: hosts the Site. See GitHub's privacy statement.

How long information is kept

Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and for reasonable record keeping. Google Analytics data is kept according to the Site’s Google Analytics retention setting and then deleted automatically.

Your choices and rights

• You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
• You can change your analytics choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
• You can request a copy of the personal information held about you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by getting in touch.
• If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and information is not knowingly collected from them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
